Every market the federal directory lists, filed by state and then by county — with the date we checked each record against USDA, and how USDA came to have it.
7,147 markets in 53 states and territories, read from USDA on 2026-09-26.
5,327 of them were gathered by USDA from the web and 1,820 were submitted by the market itself; 5,333 records were last changed by USDA in March 2023. Each row says which, and the date USDA last changed it — the date we read it is not a promise the market is still running.
What this cannot show
A market that never registered with USDA and was not found by USDA's 2023 web sweep.

- Season and hours. USDA's own listing page carries them; every row links to it.
- That a market does NOT take SNAP. A blank means USDA's record does not say — never that the answer is no.
Where this comes from
USDA Agricultural Marketing Service — National Farmers Market Directory (USDA Local Food Directories). Downloaded whole from USDA’s Data Sharing page on 2026-09-26; its terms were read the same day. Facts only — name, address, food-assistance programs named, indoor/outdoor, dates, how USDA got the record. Market-written descriptions are left out. The county on each row comes from the Census Bureau’s geocoder, run on USDA’s own coordinates, and is shown only where it agrees with the state the address names (7,111 rows). A market that is missing or wrong is USDA’s to correct — each listing page has a “Report Problems” link — and our copy follows at the next read.
